WORK PACKAGE 3 – Legislative activity coding

WP 3 description:

Work Package 3: this WP responds to RO1 by coding all bills and adopted legislation in the Romanian Parliament between 2004 and 2022 with the Comparative Policy Agendas codebook, and matching the resulting data with the candidate survey data from WP2. We will then analyze how much legislative activities in Romania are driven by persistent, coherent and consistent policy differences by the parties, by government-opposition dynamics, or the legislators’ own issue specialization and policy priorities. The resulting two research papers shall examine to what extent policy differentiation between parties varies over time and across domains in Romania, and how their size and persistence compares with similar data from other established and new democracies.
